Phonics

Parents of pupils in the Foundation Stage are invited to a meeting at the start of every school year to explain how phonics is taught and why.

Parents of children in Reception classes and KS1 have the opportunity to observe the teaching of phonics in their child’s class on a Friday morning.

Teachers provide Home Learning opportunities supporting the teaching of phonics and Home School Reading Contact Books include lists of relevant Key Stage phonic, grammar and spelling expectations.
